Oblivion Elder Scrolls Cheats

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion is the fourth episode in the successful Elder Scrolls series. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, Oblivion is available on PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox. If you are reading this, then you will already know what the game is all about, if not then you can read my other hub.

Cheats for video games is somewhat controversial. It can help a player through a particularly difficult part, or make it all so easy as to destroy the game. Whichever it is, ultimately it is up to you. I have not included the more obscure cheats that can be used, as these require some complex codes. But here are some of the more useful Oblivion cheats that you can use.

The Elder Scrolls: The Infernal City
Amazon Price: $7.88
List Price: $15.00
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Amazon Price: $42.00
List Price: $59.99
Lord of Souls: An Elder Scrolls Novel
Amazon Price: $8.26
List Price: $15.00
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Game of the Year Edition
Amazon Price: $17.49
List Price: $29.95

All of the Oblivion cheats below require you to open the console. This can be done by simply clicking the ~ key. A text cursor is then displayed and you can type in the cheat code. Just press the ~ again to remove it and continue playing. If you need help within the console just type help.

The most useful cheat is referred to as god mode. This will make you invincible, just the thing to clear out that dungeon. Within the console type tgm

If all you want to do is restore your health - ResetHealth

If you want all the magic spells, use psb

Level up your character – advlevel

The player level can be changed by - player.setlevel (whatever level you want)

Level up a particular skill – advskill (particular skill)

If you want to kill a NPC, select it with the mouse and enter kill

Run out of lockpicks? - player.additem 0000000a "(number)"

If you can't get that door or container unlocked, simply use – unlock

Need more repair hammers? - player.additem 0000000c "(number)"

or if you have run out of cash - player.additem 0000000f "1"

and finally, if you want to quit the game quickly – qqq

Don't use the above cheats unless you really need to (and they won't work in other games in the Elder Scrolls series). They can help, but if used too much, it will damage the enjoyment of Oblivion.
